Alternative Settings & Intensives
In addition to traditional telehealth sessions, I may offer flexible in-person therapy options when location, timing, privacy, and clinical fit allow. This can include walk-and-talk sessions outdoors, meetings in public spaces such as parks or cafés, home-based sessions, or extended therapeutic intensives.
Because these options are highly dependent on location, availability, confidentiality considerations, and the nature of our work together, they are discussed on a case-by-case basis. I also travel regularly, so there may occasionally be opportunities to meet in person if I am near your area, though this cannot always be guaranteed.
I’m open to creative, thoughtful ways of meeting that support the therapeutic process while maintaining clear boundaries, privacy, and care.
Please note: Outdoor or public sessions come with reduced confidentiality. I will do my best to protect your privacy, but cannot guarantee you won’t be seen or overheard. By choosing these formats, you accept this limitation.
Longer sessions and intensives are billed similarly to my hourly rates, with custom rates agreed upon in advance based on the length, format, and location.
If it feels like a good fit, I want therapy to feel both supportive and sustainable for you.
I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spots for clients who need financial flexibility. If cost is a barrier, you’re welcome to reach out—we can talk about what feels manageable and whether a reduced rate is available.
Private Pay & Insurance
I offer therapy services as a private pay provider and do not bill insurance directly.
However, I can provide a monthly superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement under your out-of-network benefits.
Because every plan is different, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of each session is reimbursed?
Do I need pre-authorization for therapy?
What is my deductible?
If you’re seeking couples or relationship therapy, please note that many insurance plans do not cover this type of work unless one partner has a diagnosed mental health condition. I recommend confirming your coverage in advance to avoid unexpected costs.
Out-of-Network Reimbursement Support
I’ve partnered with a service called Mentaya to help make using your out-of-network benefits simpler and more accessible.
If your plan includes out-of-network coverage, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement for your sessions—often after meeting your deductible. Many clients are surprised to find their sessions are at least partially reimbursed.
Mentaya can:
Check your benefits instantly
Estimate your reimbursement
Submit claims on your behalf
Handle insurance paperwork and follow-up
They charge a small fee (5% per claim) for this service.
Check Your Benefits
Use the tool to quickly estimate your out-of-network reimbursement.
It takes about a minute and can give you a clear sense of what therapy may actually cost after insurance.
Using Mentaya is completely optional. You’re always welcome to submit superbills on your own if you prefer.
Good Faith Estimate
In accordance with federal law, I provide a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected costs of therapy. This supports transparency and clarity around your investment in your care.
